JVC just unveiled their new Everio GZ-MC500 digital camera at a dealer conference in Prague, which they claim is the world’s smallest 3CCD camcorder. The GZ-MC500 is about the same size as JVC’s earlier GZ-MC200, but sports a more professional-type design with lots of added buttons and dials. In addition to the 3CCD chip, the Everio has a 10x optical zoom lens and stores video on a 4GB internal hard drive (6 and 8GB drives will be available later this year). The camera should street in March for 1500 Euros (or just under $2,000 US).
Almost more camcorder than phone, Pantech & Curitel is coming out with a very, very thick new 2.1 megapixel cameraphone called the PH-L4000V that can record “camcorder-quality” video clips to a mini MMC memory card and has a 2x optical zoom lens. Click to see a bunch more pics.
